Wayfinding, Signage & Spatial Brand Design
Wayfinding / Signage / Environmental Graphics / Spatial BrandingI’m Lan Ho, an independent brand identity designer based in Tokyo. I design wayfinding, signage and brand identities for physical spaces, from cinemas and conference centers to hospitality and leisure venues.
A space works best when people can find their way without thinking about it. Good wayfinding is part of the brand: it guides people clearly, reflects the character of the architecture and makes the whole visit feel considered.

Selected spatial & wayfinding work
JuneYao International Plaza — Conference center, Shanghai
A shared conference center offering one-stop conference services for business groups. Its ten rooms are arranged in a semi-circle, so the wayfinding and the spatial layout were planned together. Minimal, efficient and aligned with the corporate identity, the system lets visitors find their reserved room as soon as they enter.
Scope: signage, environmental graphics, digital, architecture
FANCINEMAS — Cinema
An international-standard cinema in the North America N1 Art Shopping Center, with panoramic sound, Harkness metal screens, a VR theater and a 270° three-screen hall. A complete visual identity was developed together with a visual guidance strategy built around the cinema’s multi-hall layout, to make the whole visit easier.
Scope: brand identity, signage, packaging, print
Citychamp Dartong Yacht Club — Yacht club
A yacht club launched by the Citychamp Dartong Group in 2022. With the main building already complete, the brand started from the architecture: the spatial structure of Fujian Tulou, the craft of traditional shipbuilding and the open, creative spirit of a fleet, read together as an expression of vitality.
Scope: brand identity, signage, digital, packaging, print
How I work
1. Study the space. Plans, architecture and how people actually move through it.2. Plan the journey. Decision points, the order of information and what people need at each step.
3. Design the system. Signs, typography, symbols and materials that work with the brand and the building.
4. Hand it over. Clear guidelines so the system can be produced and extended.
